Aslan! 7-2-08

So I found an awesome place to get some cool photos of wild animals.  While I was there I snagged this shot that makes me think of Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis!

What’s next with Narnia?!

Well, it is about a week and a half into 2006 and the Box Office is showing some staggering statistics. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, since its public premier, grossed $530 Million. Reuters.com So, with the movie still bringing in money, what are Disney and Walden Media to do with all that money? Well, after doing some google searching, I found this: more than 5 sources saying 1 thing, a sequel. Don’t believe me?! Look at these: TheHollyWoodNews.com, MonstersandCritics.com, and even a fan site, NarniaFans.com! It looks like Disney and Walden Media is teaming up again to bring us The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian! Walden CEO Cary Granat told Variety this:

“We’re planning on starting production by the fourth quarter of next year.”

It is unknown if he was referring to 2006 or 2007. Well, let’s hope it is 2006 and that it comes soon! Till next time, I’ll just wonder off to finish book 4, of The Chronicles of Narnia; to get a “sneak peek” of the movie!

The Wardrobe to Narnia sits in Chicago?!

C. S. Lewis got an inspiration to write a book that would eventually lead us to The Chronicles of Narnia. Little did he know it would just start with a question about an old wardrobe in an upstairs room. Yes, you read right. During the Air-Raids of World War II, C. S. Lewis had several children stay with him. One of the children, a young girl asked him what lay behind a wardrobe in an upstairs room. This sparked the brilliant imagination of C. S. Lewis whom provided an amazing answer to that question. The little girl, now ten years older, must have found more than she could ever possibly imagine awaiting behind this magical wardrobe. Still today, you can see this magical wardrobe in the Wade Center of Chicago’s Wheaton College. There is a sign posted warning visitors: “Enter at your own risk. The Wade Center assumes no responsibility for persons who disappear or who are lost in this wardrobe.” I will have to see this the next time I am in Chicago! Perhaps that will be the last people see of me!!
